Department of Cardiology
Established in 2014, the Department of Cardiology at KIMS has performed over 10,000 cardiac procedures, including many complex and innovative interventions. Our center is committed to providing holistic, high-quality cardiac care using the expertise of the best doctors in the state at an affordable cost. We have pioneered several interventional procedures in Odisha and Eastern India, such as TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), Endovascular Aortic Interventions, and Device Closure of Congenital Heart Disease. Additionally, we boast a fully developed Electrophysiology Lab, designated for treating heart arrhythmias, and were the first in Odisha to perform RF ablation for complex arrhythmias.
Our team of dedicated and competent professionals employs a multidisciplinary approach to deliver comprehensive medical care to patients with cardiovascular diseases. Recently, we have also launched a Paediatric Cardiology wing in collaboration with the Department of Paediatrics.
The Department features a dedicated non-invasive lab equipped with one TMT machine and three state-of-the-art ECHO machines, capable of advanced echo imaging. We also have two fully equipped cardiac Cath-labs designed for various complex endovascular and structural cardiac procedures.

- Cardiac ICU: Our department includes a dedicated and fully equipped Cardiac ICU providing 24/7 services, along with specialty clinics such as the Heart Failure Clinic, Arrhythmia Clinic, and Chest Pain Clinic.
- Non-Invasive Lab: Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools including 2D ECHO, 3D ECHO, TEE, Stress ECHO, Paediatric ECHO, TMT, and Holter Monitoring.
- Cardiac Cath-Lab: Our facilities include Coronary and Peripheral Angiography, Coronary and Peripheral Angioplasty, IVUS, temporary and permanent pacemaker implantation, AICD, CRT-P, and CRT-D implantation, alcohol septal ablation, Device Closure of Congenital Heart Defects, Non-surgical Valve Replacement (TAVR), Balloon Mitral, Aortic and Pulmonary Valvuloplasty, Electrophysiology, and RF Ablation, including Ablation of AF, PSVT, and VT with 3D mapping.
