The Centre for Innovation and Research (COIR) – Centre for Soft Matter and Bio-engineering (CSMBE), KIIT in association with the RDI Cell, organized two invited talks under the Research Insight Lecture Series.
The sessions were organized to promote interdisciplinary research interactions and expose young researchers to emerging developments in micro-fluidics, biomaterials, sensing technologies, and energy applications.
Dr. K. Sudhakar Prasad, Director & Founder, Papersens Pvt Ltd. and Professor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore delivered a talk titled ‘Innovative Devices and Materials for Biomedical and Energy Applications’. He highlighted recent advances in functional materials, innovative devices, and translational research in biomedical and energy-related fields.
Prof. Naresh K. Mani, Centre for Microfluidics, Biomarkers, Photoceutics & Sensors (µBioPS), MAHE, Manipal, delivered an engaging talk on Frugal Micro-fluidics for Public Health: Rapid Detection of Ethanol Content and Food Adulterants, emphasizing low-cost micro-fluidic approaches for healthcare and public health applications.
The sessions were conducted under the continued support and coordination of Dr. Sutanu Mangal, Head, COIR, and Dr. Amlana Panda, Assistant Registrar, RDI, KIIT.
The COIR-CSMBE members, faculty members, and research scholars from across KIIT & KIMS actively participated in the sessions. The event was coordinated by Dr. Santoshi Mohanta, School of Chemical Engineering, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Priti S. Mohanty, COIR-CSMBE.
