Empowering Rural Odisha: The HERO Initiative

Our Health Empowerment of Rural Odisha (HERO) programme is transforming healthcare in tribal and rural regions. By upgrading our rural dispensaries into 125-bed, fully air-conditioned, corporate-style hospitals, KIMS is determined to bridge the gap for underserved, marginalised communities—delivering affordable, advanced treatment at their doorstep.

Rural Mega Health Camps

Under the guidance of our Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, KIMS organises Mega Health Camps in all 30 districts of Odisha, with each camp serving 800–1,000 patients. These free camps provide:

  • Free medical consultations and medicines
  • Free laboratory investigations and radiological tests
  • Over 100 leading doctors, nurses, paramedics, and pharmacists volunteering their service

Recent camps: Kanasa (Puri), H. Katapally (Baragarh), Jamapada (Kendrapada), Athagarh (Cuttack), Tirana (Jagatsinghpur), KISS Bolangir (Bolangir), KISS Kalahandi (Kalahandi), Biripata (Jajpur) and more.

Mega Blood Donation Drives

KIMS leads Odisha in ethical, voluntary, and non-remunerative blood donation through regular camps on campus and in partnership with Red Cross, educational institutions, and local hospitals. Our efforts are recognised by the Indian Red Cross Society and the community.

  • Annual target: 60,000 units of blood collected through 30-district camps
  • Annual Art of Giving Mega Blood Donation Camp, guided by Dr. Achyuta Samanta—recently, 3,000 units collected in a single day (11th January 2025)
  • KIMS Blood Bank plays a vital role in safe collection, processing, and distribution of blood for patients in need
  • All activities driven by the spirit of selfless service and community compassion
