A transformative two-day Workshop on Paediatric Functional Therapy Module-II (Advanced Level) was successfully conducted at the KIMS School of Physiotherapy, bringing together leading minds and eager professionals from across the country to delve deep into paediatric neuro-rehabilitation.
The inaugural session began on August 2 in the presence of the Medical Superintendent Dr. Manas Ranjan Behara, KIMS, the Director Brig.Dr Ambika Mohanty, KIMS, and Principal of KIMS School of Physiotherapy Dr. Birupakhya Mahakul. Their powerful words underscored the significance of advancing paediatric therapeutic skills and lauded the institution’s commitment to hands-on clinical excellence.
The workshop was led by Dr. Amit Barua (MPT, SVNIRTAR) Certified in Sensory Integration, NDT, OPT, Autism Movement Therapy (USA), Halliwick (London) Director, Little Seed Clinic, Raipur.
Dr. Barua conducted an intensive and interactive series of sessions that included Oral Placement Therapy, Ball Dynamics for Pediatric, Engagement Therapeutic Management of Dystonic and Spastic CP Children, Vestibular Rehabilitation Techniques and Sensory Strategies to Optimize Postural Control
Participants were also offered rare clinical exposure to live paediatric cases, video analysis, enabling real-time understanding of positioning, handling, and therapy implementation under expert supervision bridging the gap between theory and practice. The event stood out for its immersive content, practical depth, and the clarity with which advanced techniques were delivered.
The workshop was conducted under the dedicated coordination of Dr. Smrutiranjan Sahu (PT) and Dwarikanath Rout (PT), whose attention to detail ensured a flawlessly executed and intellectually stimulating experience for all.
