The Nursing Fraternity of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar, hosted the much-awaited NurseLead Conclave 2025 on 19th July, themed “Voices that Heal: Communication as the Core of Nursing Empowerment.” The event gathered nursing professionals, educators, and healthcare leaders for a transformative day of learning. The inaugural session featured a welcome address, Odia dance, lamp lighting, and an impactful keynote by Dr. P. Vijayalaxmi from NIMHANS on the role of structured communication in reducing errors. Chaired by Dr. Soumya Sonalika, the session emphasized integrating communication into nursing education. Dr. Chittaranjan Bhoi’s session on tech-driven communication followed, stressing the importance of digital literacy, and was chaired by Dr. Benazir Maherin.
Dignitaries including Mrs. Gitanjali Mahanta, Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Prof. Dr. Manas Ranjan Behera, AVM Prof. (Dr.) Rama Chandra Das, and Dr. Rabi Narayan Samanta addressed the audience, underlining the significance of communication in nursing leadership and patient care. Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, delivered an inspiring address, urging nurses to use their voices as instruments of safety and leadership. The post-lunch sessions featured speakers like Prof. (Dr.) Anil Sharma on leadership behaviors and Mrs. Gitarani Nayak on resilience in nursing. Sessions were chaired by senior nursing leaders who highlighted the blend of compassion and innovation in modern nursing.
A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Avinash Barpanda focused on leadership, innovation, and mental health, with experts advocating for nurse-led research and inclusive workplaces. The day concluded with an interactive quiz, certificate distribution, and a valedictory by Mrs. Dipali Mohanty. With over 450 participants, the event fostered knowledge sharing, skill-building, and reaffirmed nursing’s vital role in healthcare. NurseLead Conclave 2025 was not just an academic forum but a celebration of the nursing profession and its power to heal through communication.
